Prior to any site modification, Local, State, and Federal government require inspection for, and identification of, wetlands on farmland and development properties. Although draining, filling, and excavation of wetlands are prohibited by law, there are exemptions, various options for wetland mitigation and replacement, and wetland banking and conservation programs.
